A Walk Through Alabama's Past

When darkness falls over the Alabama Black Belt, the past takes on a different character.

Step into Alabama’s past after dark at Cornwallis 1828 for an immersive evening of history, folklore, legends, mystery and stories of the unexplained.

Follow the trail into the night as Alabama’s past comes alive around you. Along the way, encounter stories inspired by historical figures, discover old legends passed from one generation to the next, explore Southern folklore and hear accounts of mysteries that still leave us searching for answers.

This isn’t simply a walking tour.

It’s an evening spent inside the stories of Alabama’s past.

YOUR EVENING

The experience begins at 6:00 PM with dinner, followed by a special workshop before we head into the darkness.

As night settles over Cornwallis 1828, guests will venture onto the trail for an immersive nighttime experience filled with history, storytelling, folklore, legends and the unexplained.

After returning from the trail, we’ll gather around the campfire to share stories, discuss the evening and continue the conversation until midnight.
